As our county and region continues to grow at a dramatic pace, it is essential that we make significant changes to preserve quality of the air we breathe. Children on our northern waterfront face higher rates of asthma and Spare the Air days occur more and more frequently. We must be bold.
As your District IV Supervisor, I have championed air quality throughout my career, and serve on the Bay Area Air Quality Management District (BAAQMD), which is responsible for monitoring air quality and implementing solutions that reduce pollutants in our atmosphere. BAAQMD Mission Statement:

Central Goals of the Bay Area Air Quality Management District:
Reduce and eliminate health problems caused by air pollution.
